EXETER FACE PROMOTION EXAMINATION |

Exeter University face a test of their championship potential after joining Bournville and Old Georgians at the Slazenger England Hockey League Conference West summit. The students - south division champions last term - followed up their opening day win over Birmingham University with a 5-2 home victory over Welsh side Whitchurch but now face away days at leaders Bournville and second placed Old Georgians in the next two weeks. |

RAIDERS ROCKED BY SCOTTISH VISITORS |

Gary Stronach admitted no-one was more disappointed than "the 10 players and the head coach" as Airwaves Plymouth Raiders succumbed to a 88-66 home BBL defeat by Scottish Rocks.
Rocks built up a 26-12 first quarter lead and then stretched that to 55-28 by half time. It gave the home team a mountainous hill to climb, although they did outscore their visitors 22-15 in the third quarter. |

Exeter Chiefs’ state of the art Sandy Park Stadium now boasts a new 7,000-plus capacity thanks to chief sponsors South West Communications Group.
The South West Communications Stand was erected at the start of the new season at the south end of the ground and provides 2,100 extra, covered seats boosting Sandy Park’s capacity to 7,300. |
