Cornwall start the second day of their Minor Counties Cricket Championship match against Cheshire today trailing by 29 runs with two wickets remaining after 18 wickets toppled on the opening day at Boughton Hall, Chester.
Cheshire recovered from 123 for 8 to make 217 all out.
Cornwall captain Tom Sharp took 5 for 72 with two wickets each for St Austell's Andrew Libby and 16-year-old pace ace Ben Kitt - who hails from Saltash - on his Championship debut.
Cornwall also lost regular wickets and were 188 for 8 at the close with skipper Sharp (Truro) on 50 not out. Callington's Dan Davis made 31.
Meanwhile Werrington have teed up a mouth-watering Premier Cup Fifty50 final against east Cornwall rivals Callington following a six-wicket home win over St Just at Ladycross.
St Just made 219 for 9 with David Roberts on 71. Werrington replied with 221 for 4 with Mark Horwell unbeaten on 99.
In the National Village Cup fifth round, Roche OB were knocked out by 2001 competition winners Ynystawe at Trezaise Road.
Roche made 163 all out with the visitors passing the score for six wickets with five balls to spare.
Ynystawe Cricket Club hail from near Swansea in South Wales.
