DEVON CRICKETERS CLINCH WESTERN DIVISION

Devon won the Minor Counties Championship Western Division yesterday when they beat Berkshire by ten wickets inside two days at Sidmouth.

In today’s third and final day of their Minor Counties game at Bournemouth, Cornwall require 110 runs to beat Dorset.

Cornwall closed the second day on 147 for 4 with Dan Davis having made 47.

Cornwall skipper Tom Sharp is unbeaten on 19.

Sharp’s side bowled Dorset out for 190 in their second innings after the home side had been 130 without loss. Werrington ace Alex Smeeth took five wickets and Truro’s Sharp three wickets.

Cornwall required 257 to win the game in just over four sessions.
