SW CRICKET Morton unbeaten centurion in Wiltshire win

Wiltshire CCC have qualified for the Unicorns Knockout Trophy quarter final stages following their four-wicket group one win over Wales Minor Counties at Warminster CC yesterday.

Tom Morton (South Wilts CC) was unbeaten on 123 as unbeaten Wiltshire made 235-6 in reply to Wales 231-9. Morton’s 123 included 13 fours and two sixes.

Wiltshire are now set to host Norfolk CCC on Sunday June 15 while Devon CCC travel to Suffolk CCC.

The other group one game, between Cornwall CCC and Dorset CCC at Werrington CC was abandoned due to rain, without a ball bowled.

 Cornwall Women’s county championship game against Shropshire Women, at St Austell CC, was rained off while Wiltshire Women (224-6, Amore 71) beat visitors Dorset Women (168) by 56 runs.

Devon Women - who play Somerset Women at Taunton today (1100) - also had their Sunday county championship fixture, away to Wales Women at Pontarddulais CC, rained off.

 Cornish club cricketers will be hoping for better weather today as there is a full Cornwall Cricket League bank holiday fixtures list.

Callington and Truro will be making a rain-delayed Premier League start following Saturday’s wash-out of their opener at New Road.
