Gary Johnson’s National League leaders Cheltenham Town FC travel to Oxford City FC in the FA Trophy second round.
Justin Merritt’s third placed City are chasing promotion from National League South but upset the form book to beat runaway divisional leaders Ebbsfleet United FC 3-1 at Marsh Lane in Saturday’s postponement-hit first round.
Cheltenham also won 3-1 on home soil, beating Chelmsford City, thanks to a hat-trick from 19-year-old defender Rob Dickie on loan from Reading FC.
Two out of three other second round ties which could feature non-League South West sides relied on the outcome of replays tonight or in Weston-super-Mare AFC’s case, a third-time-lucky retry next week.
Ryan Northmore’s Seagulls bid to try and restage their outstanding first round tie at home to Wealdstone FC was again rained off - the new date is now next Tuesday, December 22 at Woodspring Stadium.
The winners will travel to play Grimsby Town or Solihull Moors FC, who drew 1-1 in front of 1071 at Blundell Park, and now replay in the West Midlands a week today.
Kevin Nicholson’s Torquay United and Steve Tully’s Truro City FC will both be at home in the last 32 following replay wins at Southern Premier relegation rivals Chesham United FC and Cirencester Town FC.
On-loan West Bromwich Albion teenage striker Andre Wright scored twice in the first half as Torquay won 2-0 at Chesham. The Gulls will now host last season's finalists Wrexham in round two while Truro beat Cirencester 1-0 thanks to Shane White's 86th minute penalty conversion.
Truro will host Macclesfield Town or Ashton United on Saturday January 16.
Greater Manchester's Ashton United – sixth in the Northern Premier League - were leading 2-0 at Macclesfield – ninth in the National League - before their tie was abandoned after 45 minutes due to a waterlogged Moss Rose pitch on Saturday.
The pair try again next Tuesday following tonight's Moss Rose washout.
