PRE-SEASON Plymouth Argyle 2 Reading U21s 1

Plymouth Argyle club crestReuben Reid signalled his Home Park pre-season return in typical fashion, with a superb 87th minute winning goal as Plymouth Argyle beat resolute Reading Under 21s 2-1.

The prolific Argyle ace spun on to a Graham Carey pass, beat his marker on the edge of the box before drilling the winner into the corner.

Summer signing Carey had opened the scoring with an unstoppable first time 20 yarder that took a slight, uplifting deflection off a defender as it fizzed past keeper Lewis Ward.

Post-match Argyle boss Derek Adams said: “It was nice to see Graham scoring. I said that to him before the game that we need a goal and he got it.

“It was nice to see Reuben Reid coming back and get 45 minutes under his belt. We are just trying to get him back to fitness. He knows where the goal is and been fantastic since I arrived.”
