DEVON DERBY Plymouth Argyle FC 1 Exeter City FC 2

Leaders Plymouth Argyle three-match winning League 2 run was ended 2-1 by Devon rivals Exeter City in front of 14008 at Home Park after midfielder Ryan Harley put City 2-0 up at half time.

The City playmaker’s 30th minute opener came after Argyle right back Kelvin Mellor fouled City forward David Wheeler on the six yard box.

Harley picked his spot to send the ball low into the corner and out of the reach of six foot five keeper Christian Walton, making his Plymouth debut following Thursday's loan switch from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Harley found the same corner with a superb measured 18 yard strike on 39 minutes after waltzing through the home defence.

On-loan Bolton midfielder Oscar Threkeld hauled Plymouth back into the match on the hour, firing home from the edge of the box.

Plymouth playmaker Graham Carey came close to levelling with a soaring 76th minute volley which flew inches over the angle.

Exeter started on the front foot although the best early opportunities fell to Argyle with home skipper and central defender Curtis Nelson and winger Craig Tanner both forcing diving saves from City keeper Bobby Olejnik.
