CAPITAL ONE CUP first hurdle for South West clubs

The first round draw for the Capital One Cup has thrown up some intriguing ties for South West-based Football League clubs notably with Darrell Clarke’s newly promoted Bristol Rovers FC hosting Birmingham City FC and Paul Sturrock’s Yeovil Town FC at home to Queens Park Rangers FC.
Steve Cotterill’s newly promoted Championship club Bristol City FC visit Luton Town FC.
Derek Adams’ first cup tie in charge of Plymouth Argyle FC will be at home to Gillingham FC while Paul Tisdale’s Exeter City FC face a tough test at Swindon Town FC managed by popular former Grecians midfielder Mark Cooper.
In South Wales Cardiff City FC host AFC Wimbledon while Terry Butcher's first cup tie as manager of Newport County FC will be at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
Ties to be played week commencing Monday August 10.
