Leicester born former Leicester City and Kidderminster Harriers playmaker AMAN VERMA, 29, agrees new deal to stay at National League Torquay United FC next season.

Verma joined United - managed by former Kiddy defender Kevin Nicholson - on loan last season and played a major part in the Gulls' Great Escape from relegation.

Newport born six foot two former Dagenham & Rebridge striker CHRISTIAN DOIDGE, 23, has become one of Mark Cooper's first summer imports at Forest Green Rovers FC.

Cooper signed highly rated former Nantwich teenage defender Jon Moran on a two-year deal yesterday. Today's new signing Doidge also joins FGR on a two-year deal.

Cooper has appointed former Swindon Town youth coach Scott Lindsey as his assistant manager while new FGR backroom duo Steve Hale (head of goalkeeping) and Tom Huelin (fitness coach) also follow Cooper from Swindon.

National League South Truro City FC confirm they are not seeking to renew manager Steve Tully's contract.

Along with assistant Wayne Carlisle, former Exeter City FC and Torquay United FC full back Tully, 36, steered Truro to promotion from the Southern League Premier in 2015 and into the end of season NLS play-offs this year after engineering their highest ever pyramid finish.

City finished fourth in NLS.
