LING WINGS IN AS GULLS NEW BOSS

torquay united club crestMartin Ling, who steered Leyton Orient to promotion to League One in 2006, has been appointed as the new Torquay United manager.

The 44-year-old former Orient and Cambridge United boss - who began his playing career on the Exeter City wing - was confirmed as the new Gulls boss via United's official website at three o'clock this afternoon.

New Gulls boss Ling said: "It is vital to me to get the right right-hand man in and with Shaun's south west background and the fact we were team-mates at Swindon for five years and have remained in contact, I am delighted that he is going to be my assistant.
