Midweek non-League football is great isn’t it?
In eight completed South West Peninsula League games this midweek – Tuesday and Wednesday – an amazing 37 goals were scored. Goal ratio: 4.625 per game.
Even in the one abandoned game, six goals were scored before the lights went out on Ivybridge Town and Plymouth Parkway. Bonus? They get to play the game again and there's another chance of more goals.
Of the 16 midweek games featuring Western League sides – Bristol's Roman Glass St George and Thornbury Town played out a seven-goal Gloucestershire Trophy thriller – there were a sensational 69 goals scored. Goal ratio: 4.3125 per game.
Better still? Of the 24 games there was not one goalless draw to be found.
