SOUTH WEST TRIO IN EGU 18 TRAINING SQUAD

somerset golfer jamie clare, courtesy & copyright tom ward sportDevon’s British Boys champion Harrison Greenberry and Somerset's Jamie Clare and Matthew Pearson are included in the English Golf Union’s boys training squad announced today.

The EGU has invited 21 players under the age of 18 to form its boys training squad for the winter months and 2012, many of whom have already represented England at international level.

DORSET'S DAVIS WINS GIRLS NATIONAL GOLF TITLE

english women's golf association logoDorset’s Hayley Davis shot a stunning six-under par 66 to win the 2011 English girls’ golf championship by eight shots at Ellesborough in Buckinghamshire.

Her final round included back-to-back eagles and the Ferndown golfer signed off with a crowd-pleaser, rolling an impressive birdie putt in at the last.

DORSET'S DAVIS LEADS GIRLS GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP

The 18-year-old from Ferndown GC is level par after 36 holes, after adding a second round of two-over 74 to her opening 70.
