Record breaking Ross Jones topped the Total Triumph Classic leaderboard at Oake Manor Golf Club, Somerset to claim his first PGA West Region order of merit win.
Bath’s Jones finished 10 under on 130 after a scorching second round, course record 62 to finish three strokes ahead of runner-up Paul Hendriksen of Dinnaton (69, 64).
Jones’ lowest tournament round - following a competitive opening day 68 - was enough to claim the region’s first 2012 Race to Woodbury Park event of summer.
Richard O’Hanlon (Lanhydrock) and Wales’ Kevin Davies (Virginia Park) tied third on 135. O’Hanlon carded 68, 67, Davies 67,68.
• The next 2012 Race to Woodbury Park order of merit event is next week’s Bournemouth 4Ball Festival (May 29-30) at Broadstone and Dudsbury.
