There is a three-way tie at the top of the men’s 2012 South West Week Match Play Shield leaderboard at Cumberwell Park Golf Club.

Phil White’s Somerset followed up their opening 10 ¼ -3 ¾ win against Dorset with a marginally bigger win, 10 ¾ -3 ¼, over Devon yesterday, day two of the Match Play Shield competition that runs until Friday.

SOUTH WEST INTER COUNTIES LADIES GOLF

Cornwall Ladies County Golf Association made the most of home advantage to beat Wiltshire 8 ½- ½ on the opening day of South West Inter Counties Match Week at Trevose Golf & Country Club.

Today Cornwall play host to Dorset, beaten 5 ½ - 3 ½ by Devon yesterday.

REYNARD WINS CORNWALL GOLF TITLE

Reynard - a member at Trevose Golf & Country Club - overcame West Cornwall youngster Matt Richards three and two in the 36 hole final at St Enodoc Golf Club.

GOLF: RECORD-BREAKING JONES TRIUMPHS IN CLASSIC

Record breaking Ross Jones topped the Total Triumph Classic leaderboard at Oake Manor Golf Club, Somerset to claim his first PGA West Region order of merit win.

Bath’s Jones finished 10 under on 130 after a scorching second round, course record 62 to finish three strokes ahead of runner-up Paul Hendriksen of Dinnaton (69, 64).

Joe Cruse – from the host club – topped yesterday's qualifying leader board with back to back 67s for a six under 134 total, six ahead of nearest rivals Carl Burley (Merlin) and Anthony Nash (St Enodoc) on 140.
