Bristol’s top women’s side Clifton Ladies Hockey Club are playing at the Olympic Park today in the national Women's Hockey League Championship Premier 3rd/4th place play-off.
Aileen Davies' side meet Reading at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre at 1300.
The Bristol blues were pipped 2-1 by Canterbury for a second season in the semis, yesterday.
South West women’s hockey supporters will be hoping Bristol club Firebrands can retain their national league place today.
Brands – who finished ninth in the 10-team England Hockey Women’s Conference West this term - have already made a good start in the end of season play-offs, winning 2-1 at Conference East side Horsham.
Another win, over Conference North side Kendal tomorrow, at the University of West of England at 1200 would ensure another Brands season in the country’s top 40.
Admission to watch the game is free and I am sure Brands would appreciate all the support they can get to cheer them to another win.
Yesterday was Cornwall finals day at Penzance, starting with St Austell versus Newquay 2 in the women's plate final and followed by Falmouth Ladies Hockey Club against Newquay firsts in the women's cup final before the men's finals.
