CLIFTON ACE SET TO FACE CHINA

england hockey board logoClifton Ladies Hockey Club midfield ace Georgie Twigg is representing England at this week’s 2011 Rabo FIH Women's Champions Trophy in Amsterdam.

Twigg – who has played twice for Great Britain – is set to be among the three lions' squad that faces China tomorrow (1000 BST) in England's final pool match after twice appearing as a replacement.

 

England drew 2-2 with Korea yesterday morning following an opening day 1-0 defeat by world champions Argentina.

 

England won bronze in the competition for the first time last year and were ranked fifth in the world before this week's tournament.

 

Twigg, 20, has now made 19 England appearances, scoring twice.

 

Bristol-based Clifton Ladies HC play in the EHL Women's Premier Division and are skippered by Fleur Horner.
