investec womens hockey league logoMatch of the day in Women’s Conference West is tomorrow’s top of the table clash between unbeaten Gloucester City and leaders Buckingham at St Peter’s School (1200).

Buckingham boast four wins from four following a 3-0 win at Barnes Hounslow Ealing.

City maintained their unbeaten start with a 1-1 draw at Swansea after opening the scoring through Kim Pullon (46). Nicole Pike replied six minutes later.

Swansea – still in search of a first win – visit bottom club Staines, still without a point.

Third placed Trojans visit BHE while fourth placed Isca University, who drew 2-2 at Firebrands last Saturday, are at fifth placed Stourport.

Tam Pascoe (16pc) and Taryn Beuthin (49) scored for Isca, Sophie Fynn (12) and goal-a-game skipper Georgie Field restored parity from a 68th minute penalty for Brands, who visit Taunton Vale tomorrow (Taunton Vale Sports Club 1330).

Clifton bid to get back on the Women’s Premier winning track when they host University of Birmingham at Coombe Dingle (1130).

The Bristol side, third after four matches, rallied from their first league defeat – 2-0 at home to Sutton Coldfield – to beat Gloucester City 2-1 in the Women’s Cup 24 hours later.

University of Birmingham will be buoyed by their first league win of the term, 2-1 at home to bottom club Slough.
