Fit-again Ollie Devoto starts at 12 for Exeter Chiefs against Northampton Saints in today’s Anglo-Welsh Cup opener at Sandy Park (1500ko).
Sam Hill is also fit enough to be included in Chiefs’ matchday squad.
Winger James Short and lock Ollie Atkins are sole survivors from the Chiefs XV that won 10-6 in the Premiership at Sale Sharks last time out.
Kai Horstmann skippers the side from No.8. Joining him in the back-row will be summer signings James Freeman and Matt Kvesic.
Freeman, and winger Tom O’Flaherty, are set to make their first-team debuts for the Chiefs, as is Exeter University student Sal M’Boge, at full-back.
On the bench, England international Jack Maunder also returns from a spell on the sidelines, while back-row forward Tom Lawday - currently on loan with the Cornish Pirates - will be looking to maintain his impressive form so far this season.
