PLYMOUTH & DISTRICT BASKETBALL LEAGUE LATEST

Callington narrowly held on to the top spot in the P&D League after losing to CF Avengers 62-58.

Both teams have a 3-1 record, however Callington just nudge it on basket difference.

Jay Marriot once again picked up MVP honours with a 25-point haul for the victors. He was supported by Jon Hurrell with 10. Callington were once again led by Phil Collings with 22.

In the only other game last week Ward Wizards beat Liskeard Lightning 59-35. Wizards took the first and third quarters 13-6 and 11-6 respectively before putting the game out of reach with a 21-9 fourth quarter effort. MVP Luke Rockett top scored for the Wiz with 26 points including 5 three-pointers. Liskeard were led by guard Sam Landrigan with 12.

Muskrats have two tough games as they face the Bandits (4th) and the Avengers (2nd) in consecutive games.
