A strong second-half fightback saw Surrey Storm crash Team Bath Netball’s homecoming party and run out 62-58 winners in the first Vitality Superleague match at the Team Bath Arena in almost two years.

There was nothing to choose between the teams during the first quarter but the Haines Watts-sponsored Blue & Gold managed to edge into a four-goal lead at half-time and briefly led by seven in the early stages of the third period.

Sophie Drakeford-Lewis versus Sirens BEN LUMLEY Head coach Anna Stembridge was proud to see her players show “grit and character” as Team Bath Netball began the 2022 Vitality Superleague season with a win against Strathclyde Sirens before being edged out in the game of the weekend against London Pulse.

The Haines Watts-sponsored Blue & Gold went into the double header in Birmingham managing some injuries within the squad and without international stars Serena Guthrie and Phumza Maweni.

Kim Borger actionTeam Bath Netball are now the only unbeaten 2021 Superleague side after comprehensively beating defending champions Manchester Thunder 60-35 last night.

Bath’s blue and golds won every quarter to make it four wins out of four ahead of today’s West derby against Severn Stars (1600).
