BICTON 5 AND 10K POSTPONED

The icy weather gripping the Westcountry has claimed another sporting casualty - today's 5K and 10K charity races at Bicton in East Devon have been postponed until the New Year.

The event, organised by the Women's Running Network to raise money for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund, was called off after an inspection of the course yesterday afternoon.

PLYMOUTH HALF ENTRIES CLOSE AT RECORD HIGH

Entries for the 2010 Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday May 30 have closed at a record high.

RIGHT, SAID FRED: INSTINCTIVE SPORTS

I ran my first eight miles in preparation for next month's Plymouth Half Marathon on Sunday at Burrator but it was thanks to a runner from Instinctive Sports, Fred Jenkins, that I ran a half decent pace.

Fred was a great ambassador for the sport and Instinctive Sports, reminding me why I started running with a club in the first place.
