National League South leaders Torquay United's match against Chelmsford City - fixtured for today - was postponed yesterday.

The match referee inspected Plainmoor at 1245 and decided the game should be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch following torrential downpours and despite best efforts of United's ground staff.

A decision was sought as early as possible to avoid inconveniencing Chelmsford City Football Club and travelling fans.

A new date for the match will be announced in due course.
