Exeter Chiefs have signed centre/loose forward Josh Jones on a two-year deal from Super League Rugby League side St Helens.
Preston-born Jones, 22, becomes Rob Baxter’s eighth signing of a busy summer of recruitment at Devon's ambitious Aviva Premiership club.
Although Jones has spent much of playing career with the Saints, did have a brief flirtation with the 15-man game during his school days, starting out with his hometown club, Preston Grasshoppers.
Baxter said: "He will almost certainly be playing in midfield and it will interesting to see how his attacking and defensive qualities translate to union."
