INSPIRED? Our simple message to you: enjoy sport!

Such a great sporting Saturday again . . . where do we start?

First place is to suggest that if the sun stays high in the sky, please try and get outside and if you can’t play sport, then support it, be active, walk or cycle to a game – if at all possible. Most of all stop reading this and do something!

There are so many great team games being played across South West England and South Wales today, whether your choice is rugby union, football, hockey, cricket . . .

The list goes on and on and on . . .

Here's another suggestion: try a new sport this weekend!

Last Friday I took to the water in a rowing boat for the first time, thanks to Taunton Rowing Club and the extreme patience of coach/club captain Ian Payne.

I was inspired to try a free learn to row taster session by the success of the London 2012 Olympics.

SWSN has also, finally, made contact with Bristol Handball Club this week, thanks to twitter.

SWSN anticipates featuring articles on both sports or clubs over the coming month as well as a healthy slice of whatever other activity captures our imagination.

We like to think of it as inspiration from perspiration . . . in other words, get out there and have a go!

Start running, return to cycling, take up netball, try handball, get back to hockey, learn to row . . .

You will never know if you like a sport unless you try it for yourself.

Let SWSN know what new sport you are watching/attempting this weekend.

Until we talk again . . . go on, get out there, play or support and enjoy some sunshine sport!
