Torquay United boss Alan Knill praised on-loan Millwall striker John Marquis for his 50th minute winner as the Gulls ended Southend United’s seven-match unbeaten run 1-0 at Plainmoor.
Knill said: “John has scored two in the last two games and if I was a centre half I know I wouldn’t want to play against him.

Plymouth boss John Sheridan praised his young side and Argyle's self-proclaimed green army following a crucial comeback win over relegation rivals Barnet at Home Park.
Sheridan said: "Barnet scored against the run of play and in the position we are in we could have let our heads drop but instead of that we rose."

Torquay United manager Alan Knill has set the relegation haunted Gulls a "win-all" 12-point target in their final four League Two games following yesterday's 3-1 home defeat by play-off hopefuls Bradford City.
United have slipped to 20th in the table, a point above second from bottom York City, ahead of Saturday's trip to runaway leaders Gillingham.

Torquay United manager Alan Knill admits last night’s 2-1 home win over Chesterfield was “massive” and it is important to follow-up with another, similar, Plainmoor result on Saturday against relegation rivals York City.

Exeter City boss Paul Tisdale was delighted with game changer Alan Gow as the hot shot Scot's 84th minute penalty levelled the first professional Devon derby of 2013 1-1 under lights at Torquay last night.
Tisdale said: "Alan Gow was fantastic for us. We were always going to bring him on at half time, he knew that and was ready. As he proved, he is a very good player if you get the ball to him."
