Berkshire made a strong start to their quest to win the National Counties Championship for a record fifth consecutive time before rain interrupted play on the opening day of their Western Division One match against Wiltshire at Corsham.Wiltshire were struggling on 127 for seven when the weather closed in having opted to bat first after Berkshire’s new ball pair of Tom Nugent and Andy Rishton had done the early damage.

Dorset held their nerve to edge out Herefordshire by nine runs in a thrilling National Counties Trophy Group Two match at Brockhampton. Herefordshire appeared to have laid the foundations for victory when skipper Matt Pardoe made an unbeaten half century and they reached 92 without loss in the 20th over in pursuit of a target of 195.

Shropshire will play in Division Two of the Western Division when the Championship is reorganised next season after they were beaten by seven wickets by Wiltshire inside two days at Marlborough.
Slow left-armer Jake Lintott took five for 21 to finish with impressive match figures of eight for 38 as Shropshire managed to only equal their first innings total of 123.

Defending champions Berkshire reached their fourth consecutive Minor Counties Championship final despite their run of 12 successive wins coming to an end St Austell where they had to settle for a draw against Cornwall.Middlesex wicketkeeper/batsman Jack Davie again demonstrated his class with an unbeaten 111 out of Berkshire’s 207 for eight declared.

Devon will play in the Second Division after Cornwall’s Tom Dinnis produced career-best performances with bat and ball to set up an 81 runs win at Exeter.
Dinnis, whose previous highest score was 23, made 41 and shared a last wicket stand of 70 with Andrew Libby.

Herefordshire held their nerve to snatch a dramatic one wicket victory over Wiltshire in a tense Minor Counties Championship Western Division match at Brockhampton.
A match of fluctuating fortunes was decided when Dan Conway scampered a single off off-spinner Joe King to take Herefordshire to a target of 207.
