ILFRACOMBE WIN LES PHILLIPS CUP

Ilfracombe Town beat Cadbury Heath 3-1 to win the Les Phillips Cup for the first time infront of 410 at Wells City FC.

Goals by Shaun Lewis (2) and Steve Holland enabled the high flying Bluebirds to overcome a First Division Cadbury Heath side that had already upset Town’s Premier Division rivals Willand Rovers and Odd Down on their way to the final.

Lewis powered home a header from Matt Downing’s corner to make it 1-0 in the 42nd minute.

Toby Colbourne countered to level for Andy Black’s impressive Heath side in the 57th minute before Lewis restored Ilfracombe’s advantage with a measured lob just after the hour.

Holland claimed his sixth goal in eight games in the 80th minute as Barry Yeo's Bluebirds clinched the trophy.
