Bristol City Women are through to the Super League Cup semi-finals following a 2-1 win over Aston Villa Women behind closed doors at Twerton Park.
Striker Ebony Salmon was City's ace and matchwinner scoring twice within three minutes (55,58) to fire the Robins 2-0 up in the cup.
Stine Larsen headed an 86th minute reply for Villa, who are second from bottom in the FA Women's Super League, four points ahead of basement side Bristol, still without a win in 10 league games.
After their cup win City will be hoping for a turnaround in league fortunes at fifth placed Everton on Sunday (1300).
