Tiverton Town opened up a three-point Southern Prem lead following a 3-2 comeback home win over top five rivals Taunton Town who led 2-0 after six minutes.
Ben Adelsbury (3 mins) and Rocky Neal (6) fired Taunton ahead in front of 853 at Ladysmead.
Chris Shepherd (13 mins) and Jordan Bastin (38) levelled the scores before half time.
Alex Fletcher scored Tiverton’s 90th minute winner. Post-match Tiverton announced Bastin has penned a contract with the club.
Post-match Taunton chairman Kevin Sturmey admitted he was gutted but "Taunton lads gave everything but just couldn't get a third (goal). Great advert for non-League, fans immense."
Tivvy's was not the top flight's most dramatic finish on the first day of the new decade.
Second placed Truro City were also pipped 3-2 despite leading 2-1 heading into stoppage time at Weston-super-Mare.
Scott Laird levelled from the spot in the first minute of stoppage time before Michael Symons' winner in the third minute of time added on.
Laird had cancelled out Dan Rooney's 14th minute opener in the 38th minute before Ryan Dickson restored Truro's lead in the 72nd minute.
There was also late drama in the south coast derby at Wimborne Town, where Poole Town's Will Spetch cancelled out Tony-James Lee's 62nd minute opener in the last minute of normal time... only for sub Curtis Young to secure a Wimborne win two minutes later.
Conor Mcdonaugh scored both Swindon Supermarine goals in a 2-2 home draw with Merthyr Town whose scorers were Gethyn Hill and Owain Jones, with an 89th minute leveller. Marine moved above Taunton into fourth place, 10 points behind leaders Tiverton with two games in hand.
Billy Lowes (14) and Tom Blair (20) put managerless Dorchester Town 2-0 up against Blackfield & Langley, who finished level thanks to a Hisham Kasimu double.
While Salisbury soared to sixth following a 4-2 win at Yate Town where Luke Spokes (55 & 83) scored twice for the home side.
American midfielder Bay Downing (42) Dan Fitchett (53) Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick (56) and Danny Young (87) scored for Steve Claridge's side.
