SW GOLF Toy is youngest Cornwall ladies champion

Carlyon Bay teenage ace Emily Toy has become the youngest ever Cornwall Ladies amateur golf champion.
The 15-year-old beat six times finalist and past champion Rachael Lloyd-Phillips 1 up at Tehidy Park in yesterday's 36 hole final.
The match was close throughout and all square at 27 through to 34 before Toy edged ahead at the 35th.
Toy sank a 20 foot putt to secure victory with a par four at the last.
Toy and Lloyd-Phillips top the Cornwall 10 – including Truro's England international ace Sarah-Jane Boyd - selected for June's South West Counties Championship women's team event at Woodbury Park.

• Cornwall's amateur men's team beat Wiltshire 12-3 in their first home 2013 Channel League match at West Cornwall Golf Club yesterday reports ROSS REID.
Defending champions Devon maintained their winning start - following an opening 9-6 win over Cornwall at Tavistock - by edging home 8-7 away to Gloucestershire at Bristol & Clifton.
