Hockey Wales is thrilled to announce the 38 athletes chosen to represent Wales at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games this summer. The 18-player men and women’s squads include an exciting mix of experienced players and upcoming stars, including Olympic medallists, Gold-Coast and Glasgow Commonwealth athletes, 12 debutants, and three uncapped players.

Six Swansea Spartans are included in Wales Women’s Hockey squad for the first international Test series of summer, against Italy in San Vito Romano from June 23-26.
Spartans' Hockey Wales international ambassador Jo Westwood (pictured) and Holcombe's Sarah Jones are in line to receive their 50th Welsh caps during the three game series.

Some cracking Men’s Conference West matches today start with unbeaten Cheltenham against pace setters Guildford at Balcarras (1230).
Both sides got off to flying round one starts with Cheltenham beating Bath Buccs 4-0 and Guildford winning 5-2 against Havant.

University of Exeter return for national hockey league round eight at home to Havant today following a two-week break from Men's Conference West action.
