Team Bath Netball produced a performance of “pure grit and determination” as they saw off a fierce fightback from Strathclyde Sirens to make a winning start to the 2024 Super League season.

The Blue & Gold, inspired by a superb display from goal attack Sophie Kelly, led by four at half-time of Saturday’s Season Opener in Nottingham before their Scottish opponents rallied to take a 40-39 lead into the final 15 minutes.

I aim to get things sorted as soon as practically possible and envisage this will - sensibly - require two weeks, at least, as it has done in previous years.

Asha Francis says her Team Bath Netball players will have learnt plenty from their performances in Sunday’s sell-out Tri-Tournament against Super League rivals Severn Stars and London Pulse.

An action-packed afternoon saw Stars secure the Lyn Gunson Trophy – named after the Team Bath coaching great – with a 53-34 win over the hosts and 46-40 success against Pulse, who then beat Team Bath 42-32 in the third round-robin fixture.

Team Bath Netball entertain Nottingham Forest tonight (1900) determined to build on the promise shown during their 2026 NXT Gen League season opener against London Pulse.

The Blue & Gold were beaten 57-47 at the Team Bath Arena but played well in defeat and gave valuable court time to 11 players, including three debutants – Lucy Herdman, Saskia Lea and Sydney Sawyers.

Netball fans will enjoy a great chance to see three Super League teams in action a month before the 2024 season begins as the popular Team Bath Tri-Tournament returns for another year.

Taking place at the Team Bath Arena on Sunday 14^th January, this pre-season’s event will see the hosts take on local rivals Severn Stars and 2023 Super League finalists London Pulse in an action-packed round-robin competition.
