Last season's play-off finalists Cornish Pirates will kick off the new RFU Championship season at Moseley on Saturday September 3.

Bristol Rugby also travel on the opening day, jousting against Doncaster Knights, while Graham Dawe's Plymouth Albion begin the new season at home to Esher at Brickfields.

University of Bath RFC are through to the Bath Combination Cup semi finals after knocking out holders Chippenham RFC 33-15 at Melksham RFC last night.

• Bristol based South West invitational veterans charity side Egg Chasers XV will play a Headway Select XV on behalf of Cardiff Headway charity at the Arms Park, Cardiff on Friday April 5 (1900ko).

• Topsham RFC Colts are through to the England Rugby National U18s Cup quarter finals following a 31-5 last 16 home win over Wimborne RFC Colts Crusaders.
