CORNWALL CRICKET round-up with Michael Weeks

Cornwall Cricket choughPenzance stay top of the ECB Cornwall Premier League following a 131-un win over Camborne at St Clare.
Brad Wadlan made 109 in the Penzance total of 316-8. Camborne batted a full 50 overs to end on 185-9.
Second placed Redruth beat Falmouth by 28 runs after scoring 252-8. Falmouth were bowled out for 224 with Nathan Alexander taking 5-42.
Werrington moved up to third after beating previously unbeaten St Just by seven wickets at Ladycross.
St Just were dismissed for 186 with Jono Baldock taking 6-33. Werrington skipper Paul Smith made 102 not out as Werrington reached 187-3 with 10 overs to spare.
Aidan Libby hit 86 as Callington made 208-8 at home to St Austell. Mike Bone replied with 89 as the Saints won by seven wickets.
Grampound Road gained back to back wins beating Wadebridge by six wickets. Wadebridge were bowled out for 127 and the Road replied with 130-4.
In County Division 1 all six games were won by the team batting first, and all by a margin of 100 runs or more.

The top five Cornwall Premier League teams all won by the Duckworth Lewis Method due to rain interruptions.

Falmouth were bowled out for 133 by pacesetters Penzance who won by six wickets.

Penzance were 73-4 off 21 overs but ahead by 11 runs on Duckworth Lewis when rain stopped play.

Grampound Road made 314-8 against Redruth, Ravindra Karunarathna top scoring on 147.

Redruth reached their 20 overs target of 158 with five wickets and two balls to spare.

Wadebridge were bowled out for 180 at Truro who reached their 21 overs target of 101 for the loss of one wicket.

Werrington made 274-6 at home to Camborne with Paul Smith smashing 90.

Camborne ended on 186-6 in 40 overs to fall short of their D/L target by 58 runs.

St Just smashed 256- 4 declared at Callington with centurion Dan Lello 117 not out and Neil Curnow cracking 84.

Callington ended on 179-9 in 45 overs falling short of their D/L target by 63 runs.

In County Division 1 only one game finished as Helston (294-5) beat Werrington seconds (128). 

The other five matches were all abandoned shortly after tea.

Gorran 300, St Erme did not bat.

Rosudgeon 135, Lanhydrock 37-2.

Launceston 164, Redruth 44-4.

Roche 220, Newquay 77- 1.

Today Cornwall Women are due to play Dorset at Hamworthy, near Poole, weather-permitting.

In the National Village Cup Gulval play South Petherwin and Tintagel take on Roche, weather-permitting.
