cornwall cricket logo Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League pace setters Callington have opened up a seven point lead following a high scoring top of the table draw at St Just. Callington made 236 for 6 with St Just 178 for 6 in reply.

 

Truro moved up to joint second after winning a low scoring game at Grampound Road. Truro made 164 for 9 before Grampound Road were dismissed for 73 with Alex Taylor taking 5 for 31.

 

Werrington moved into contention after beating defending champions Paul by 55 runs. Alex Smeeth made 89 in Werrington’s 219 all out with Neil Pengelly taking 5 for 53. Paul were bowled out for 164 in reply with Werrington skipper Ben Smeeth and brother Alex both taking three wickets.

 

St Austell won at Falmouth by 47 runs after making 233 for 4 with Taylor Williams making 83. Falmouth were bowled out for 186.

 

Newquay won their first game when they beat Troon by three wickets. Troon made 186 with Newquay reaching 189 for 7. Richard Spall and Martin Pearce both took four wickets for Newquay, whose top scorer was opener Tom Eggins with 46.

 

County Division 1 leaders Camborne remain unbeaten following a 109 run win over Ludgvan and an unbeaten 109 for Daniel Stephens. Kevin Roberts opened with 79 while Martin Jenkin was unbeaten on 47. Camborne's Sam Pooley took 4-36 and Rudi Second 3-35.
