Cornwall were 272-4 at lunch on the second day of Minor Counties Championship game against Shropshire at St Austell CC.
Skipper Tom Sharp is 31 not out and Grampound Road's Chris Hunkin 16 not out after Callington's Matt Robins made a superb century (118) and debutant Thomas Rowe scored 77.
Yesterday Shropshire won the toss and made 355-9 in their 55 overs, Werrington's Alex Smeeth took five wickets on his return to the side and Truro's Sharp, three.
Cornwall batted for 31 overs last night reaching 109 for 2. Robins was 59 not out and Rowe 23 not out.
Play continues throughout the day at Wheal Eliza today and the third and final day's play begains at 1100 tomorrow morning.
St Erme won the Clive Rosevear Cup Finals Day played at Roche. They beat Bude in the final by seven wickets.
