CRICKET Cornwall will have to break Herts to reach final

Cornwall will have to overcome 2019 winners Hertfordshire if they are to reach the National Counties T20 final.

Berkshire and Hertfordshire, two previous winners of the competition, have been kept apart in the draw for this season’s semi-finals.

Berkshire, who won the competition in 2018, have been drawn to face Staffordshire in the first semi-final at Tring Park on Sunday May 21 at 1000.

Hertfordshire take on Cornwall in the second semi-final at 1330 with the final completing the entertainment on a busy day of T20 cricket.

Berkshire were the first side to qualify for this season’s Finals Day when they clinched Group Four by beating and deposing holders Oxfordshire at Thame last Monday.

Hertfordshire secured their place as Group Three winners four days later with two points after their scheduled final double-header against Suffolk at Welwyn Garden City was cancelled because of a waterlogged ground.

Cornwall cinched Group Two on Sunday with two wins over Devon at Cornwood and Staffordshire were confirmed as Group One winners after Northumberland lost the second match of their double-header against Shropshire at the South Northumberland club in Gosforth.
