NATIONAL COUNTIES All change for Tamar derby at Truro

NCCA-Logo MasterCornwall make three team changes for the National Counties Championship Tamar derby against Devon at Truro today (1100).

Charlie Kent, Matt Robins and James Turpin replace Ben Twohig, Kian Burns and Scott Kellow in the side which drew with Wales.

Devon have also made three changes with Jamie Stephens back to lead the side having recovered from injury which ruled him out of last week’s draw with Wales.

Paceman Dan Goodey and batsman Ben Beaumont also return with opener James Degg, injured all-rounder Matt Golding and left-arm spinner Fahad Sabir making way.

Finchampstead pace bowler Lewis Sharp will make his debut for Berkshire in familiar surroundings against Dorset.

Sharp, 23, will make his debut at his home club having impressed in the Home Counties Premier League this season. He replaces Tom Nugent who is unavailable this weekend.

Dan Lincoln returns to the side having played for Kent in recent weeks and he will play alongside his younger brother Josh for Berkshire for the first time.

Both brothers were due to play when Berkshire opened their Championship campaign against Wiltshire three weeks ago, but Dan was called up by Kent to face Sussex while Josh made a successful debut for Berkshire.

Pace bowler Brad Currie is in line to make his first appearance of the season for Dorset, replacing Jake Gordon in the one change to the squad name for the win over Wiltshire last week.

Wiltshire have called up seamer Matt Burton and wicketkeeper Ben Draper from host club South Wilts for their match against Oxfordshire.

Burton will make his Championship debut on his home ground while Draper will be playing his first three-day game since 2018.

There will be a seasonal debut for Brad Dawson and a return to the side for seamer Chris Aubrey who missed last week’s defeat by Dorset.

Wales NC have included seamer Ben Morris for a potential debut at his home club Abergavenny in the Western Division Two match against Shropshire.

Morris, 17, has been called up along with Glamorgan academy all-rounder Sam Jardine because Richard Edwards and Aneurin Norman are injured.

Oliver Pike, who replaced Edwards in last weekend’s draw with Devon, is unavailable as he has a university dissertation to complete.

Sam Whitney, Shropshire’s new three-day captain, will lead the side for the first time having missed the defeat by Herefordshire with a shoulder injury.

Former Glamorgan all-rounder Graham Wagg, who led Shropshire in Whitney’s absence, returns to the ranks in a side that includes a debutant in Shrewsbury all-rounder Harry Cooke, a member of Worcestershire’s academy.

Sentinel all-rounder James Shaw will make his Championship debut having played in the Trophy match against Cumbria earlier this month.

David Laird is injured and Matt Swift is unavailable this week so Ben Lees will keep wicket.
