James Lorenz scored his second hat-trick of the season as Liskeard cruised to victory over hard-working Launceston at Lux Park.
Lorenz’s treble included two penalties and he also had a spot kick saved by Clarets keeper Ash Clelland, later sent off for flooring the Blues striker.
Tom Savigar scored the other goal for Liskeard, who had right back Harry Bell dismissed for two yellow cards on 73 minutes.
After a fairly even opening 20 minutes, the Blues scored twice in six minutes. Lorenz broke the deadlock from the spot after Jordan Stidson was harshly adjudged to have handled the ball.
Then Savigar ran onto a fine pass from Jarrad Woods to cut in from the left and fire a low shot past Clelland.
Liskeard had a great opportunity to make it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time when Bell was brought down but Lorenz’s well struck penalty was kept out by Clelland.
Launceston needed a quick response in the second half but fell further behind in the 48th minute when Lorenz raced onto a Woods pass, and took the ball around the keeper to score.
Three minutes later Launceston were also reduced to 10 men when Clelland sent Lorenz crashing to the ground as he went to lob the onrushing keeper.
Lorenz picked himself up to smash the resulting penalty past stand-in keeper Stidson before limping off.
There was still time for Mabin to head against the bar for the visitors.
