LEAGUE ONE Plymouth Argyle 2 Cheltenham Town 0

Plymouth Argyle continued their play-off push with a sixth League One win on the spin thanks to two moments of magic.

Niall Ennis scored a superb 14th minute opener arrowing in a grasscutter from the far side of the penalty box and in off the far post past diving keeper Owen Evans.

Ennis could have doubled his tally not long after with a goal-bound header but this time Cheltenham keeper Evans made a brilliant fingertip save.

Argyle playmaker Danny Mayor fired the home team 2-0 up in the 42nd minute with a technically superb finish, chesting down a high ball and then volleying up and over Evans and into the top of the net from the edge of the area.

Argyle started the second half in the way they finished the first with Ennis crossing for top scorer Ryan Hardie to send the ball just wide of the near post with a deft back heel.

Cheltenham had their moments but found home keeper Michael Cooper in continuing top form.

And when they eventually did beat him? Joe Edwards was on the line to clear and constant threat Alfie May's header was ruled offside.
