It was the leaders' ninth successive win in the league and extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches, including a penalty shoot-out success against Torquay United in the Devon St Luke’s Bowl.

League leaders Ivybridge Town continued their unbeaten run in the South West Peninsula League with a 6-1 home win over Honiton Town at Erme Valley.

DEVON ST LUKE'S BOWL Ivybridge 2 Torquay Utd 2

Despite being without a number of regular first team players through injury and unavailability, Ivybridge beat Torquay United 4-3 on penalties to progress into the Devon County St Luke’s Bowl second round at Erme Valley.

Ivybridge battled back from a 1-0 interval deficit to take a 2-1 lead before Torquay equalised in the closing stages.

Saltash’s vast improvement over the last few weeks was underlined on Saturday when they cruised past a very good Wendron side in the FA Vase second qualifying round.

The Ashes now host Portishead Town in the first round proper on Saturday October 21.
