Taunton Town stalwart Kevin Sturmey has the home FA Cup third qualifying round draw he hoped for when the Peacocks were pulled out of the hat ahead of Hampton & Richmond Borough today.
Taunton - who last reached the 3QR in 1999 - have now been drawn at home four times in a row in this season's competition.
Sturmey – who doubles as chairman and groundsman at Taunton – said: “It’s always nice to have home advantage, especially in the FA Cup.
“It’s the competition that people all know about and hopefully now we have won through to the third qualifying round for the first time in 17 years we will get even more people from the town behind us.
“We had a decent crowd of 375 in on Saturday and now we are home again I would like to think we can build on that by quite a lot.
“This is the last round before the top National League (Premier) sides come into it and obviously we would love to win through to that stage.”
Taunton beat Southern League 1 South West Division rivals Slimbridge AFC 2-0 at the Viridor Stadium on Saturday to make into today’s draw thanks to goals from in-form striker Matt Wright and substitute Ryan Batley.
Somerset's Peacocks - managed by Leigh Robinson - had home advantage in the first qualifying round, when they beat visitors Cinderford 2-0, and preliminary round, drawing 4-4 with rivals Tiverton Town before winning the replay 2-0 at Ladysmead.
Jason Matthews’ Southern Premier Weymouth are at home to Hellenic Premier Brimscombe & Thrupp FC from Gloucestershire while National League North Gloucester City’s reward for winning 2-1 at Steve Claridge's Salisbury FC is home advantage against Hemel Hempstead Town or Herne Bay on October 1.
Western League Cadbury Heath also await the outcome of a replay before they travel to Kempston Rovers or Burgess Hill Town while Bath City or Oxford City, who drew 1-1 at Twerton Park on Saturday, will visit Canvey Island or Potter Bar Town.
Chippenham Town visit Billericay Town, Swindon Supermarine are at Welling United, Merthyr at Whitehawk and Hereford at Tonbridge Angels.
