RYAN LOWE reaction to Reading EFL Cup KO

ryan lowePlymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe admitted he enjoyed last night's pulsating EFL Cup tie despite a 4-2 loss to Championship side Reading at Home Park.

Lowe said: “It was good. We were quite relaxed and calm. It was a win-win situation for us as we're not going to win the cup, with all due respect.

“It was a bit harsh in the end because we found ourselves winning the game 2-1 but committed errors in the wrong areas and got punished.

"When you are playing against top opposition, a club from the Championship, that’s what they can do to you. They can hurt you.

“Their second goal, was a worldy wasn’t it?

“Two or three keepers wouldn’t have saved that one.

“Overall I was pleased with the lads - we’ve had two or three lads step in - but not pleased with the goals we have conceded because you don’t want to conceded any goals let alone four.

“If you give the ball away in certain areas in League Two, with all due respect, you don’t get punished as much but you go up the leagues and you do.

“Their second goal the boy (Josh Barrett) has cut inside from the left and we should have shown him down the line. We don’t and he puts one in the top corner of the net but again you cannot legislate for that because the boy's got quality.

“We got two good goals and played some good football but when you give good teams like Reading a chance? They take it.”
