SOUTHERN LEAGUE SPOTLIGHT Ready Eddy? Go!

Truro City manager Steve Massey is set to recall FA Cup match winner Liam Eddy for tonight's Southern League Premier match against Frome Town (Treyew Road 1945).

Eddy scored a sensational last-minute 30-yard winner for City on their last home outing as they beat resilient Street 1-0 in the cup but started on the bench for Saturday's 2-0 league defeat at St Neots.

Massey said: "The silver lining, if there is any when you have lost, is that we have a game again tonight.

"It's a massive game now because we have lost and Frome lost and they are below us and I want us to get some momentum back before the cup tie at Brislington.

"One thing in my mind is that Liam Eddy will be back in from the start. He did well from the bench on Saturday and got himself in good positions.

"The one thing we have lacked from pre-season is a cutting edge – maybe he can provide it.

"Our build up play, our approach has been fine. We have had compliments about the way we play from opposition managers and we got that again on Saturday but I'd rather have the points than praise from the team that have just beaten us."

Liam Hurst (39 minutes) and Karl Safee (74 mins) scored for Saints, whose 45th minute Lewis Hilliard penalty was saved by Ollie Chenoweth.

Truro – who will again have to rejig without suspended Jamie Lowry – had to make-do without skipper Jake Ash while recalled winger Les Afful went off injured in the second half.

Massey said: "Matt Andrew hit the bar for us and we created a number of other chances so that side of the game was good but losing Les in the second half was another blow after Ashy failed his fitness test."

Truro slipped to 18th ahead of tonight's match against second from bottom Frome, who suffered a fifth successive league loss, 2-0 at home to Hungerford.

In Division One South & West there are two stand-out fixtures tonight as Bridgwater Town host Paulton Rovers and Taunton Town travel to Mangotsfield United.
