WESTERN LEAGUE top of table clash at Bitton today

Toolstation Western League logoPlymouth Parkway soared to the Western League Premier Division summit following a 4-2 home win over Hallen as the three-way title race hots up.

Ryan Lane (10 mins) Rob Farkins (15) Jordan Trott (51) and Mikey Williams (71) scored for the league newcomers. Hallen replied on 58 and 80 minutes.

It could have been five for Lee Hobbs' home side but Hallen boss and stand-in keeper Ray Johnston – on as the only sub – saved an 86th minute Jordan Annear penalty.

With six to play Parkway are now two points clear of Devon rivals – and long-time league leaders – Willand although Russell Jee’s Rovers have a game in hand.

Parkway bolstered their title bid by signing Plymouth born former Argyle central defender Aaron Bentley in midweek.

Undisputed Western League match of the day today will be Parkway’s visit to Dan Langdon's third placed Bitton, 4-0 winners at Brislington on Tuesday. Willand host sixth placed Clevedon Town.
