GOLF Saunton to host 2014 English Amateur

The men’s English Amateur Championship is set to return to Saunton Golf Club from July 28 to August 2, 2014.

It will be a memorable year for amateur golf in the county as Royal North Devon Golf Club is fixtured to host the men’s English County Finals between September 26-28 in 2014.

Both fixtures were released by England Golf today.

Saunton has staged the English Amateur Championship three times since 1937, most recently when it was won by Cornwall’s Scott Godfrey in 2001.

The 2008 Boys County Finals were staged at RND, the oldest golf course in England.

Saunton staged the English Men’s Open Mid-Amateur Championship for the Logan Trophy over the west course in July.
