April showers – and high winds - caused the prestigious 2012 West of England Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Royal North Devon to be reduced to from 72 to 54 holes.
Surrey’s Joshua White (Chipstead) Gloucestershire’s Charlie McLean (Brickhampton Court) and Yorkshire's Matthew Daley (Hainsworth Park) shared a three-way tie after three rounds at the top of the leader board on 223.
Top finisher from Cornwall was Tom Fox (China Fleet) who carded 70, 78, 76 to finish in a group of five players on 224 and fifth overall on count back.
That group of five included Gloucetershire's Thomas Workman (Stinchcombe Hill) 70, 78, 76.
Another top 10 finisher was ninth placed David Ashley (RND) in another group of five, on 225, after scoring 77, 72, and 76 over his home course at Westward Ho!
Gloucestershire's Laurie Potter (Minchinhampton) finished 10th and Wiltshire's Ben Stow (Rushmore) 11th, both on 225.
