England Golf's Emily Toy has come up trumps on her first trip Down Under – winning the women’s New South Wales 36-hole championship in Australia.
The Cornwall women's amateur ace finished four-under 141 following rounds of 71 and 70 at Mona Vale Golf Club, finishing a shot clear of her closest rivals.
Exeter University student Toy now leads the qualifiers heading into the NSW match play championship.
England team-mate Cara Gainer is two shots behind her and tied fourth in the championship.
Toy (Carlyon Bay) and Gainer (Castle Royle) are representing England on a month-long tour of Australia, alongside Bailey Gill (Lindrick), Ben Jones (Northamptonshire County) and Tom Sloman (Taunton & Pickeridge).
The men’s New South Wales Medal was delayed by fog and, while regulation play was completed, Somerset's Sloman is locked in a play-off for the last spot in the match play.
