Dorset followed up their big win over Wiltshire with an eye-catching 8-6 victory over favourites Gloucestershire after establishing a 5-3 morning singles lead.
Cornwall remain second in the table after two days despite narrowly losing to Ali James' resolute Wiltshire, who clawed back a morning 4.5-3.5 deficit to edge home 7.25-6.75.
Devon - skippered by Woodbury's Pete Lawrence - also claimed their first win. Bouncing back from an opening day defeat by Cornwall to inflict a second defeat on defending champions Somerset.
Today's interest centres on the indvidual strokeplay championship - over 36 holes - and which county will go forward to represent the region at the England Golf County Finals.
County captains have selected their teams of six and the county with the best score at the end of the day will go forward to the matchplay county finals.
