Claire Thomas scored all four goals as Isca University won 4-0 at Stourport in the Investec Women’s Hockey League.
Thomas topped the Women’s Conference West scoring charts last term with 18 goals.
The 21-year-old University of Exeter student’s impressive four-goal haul at Stourport – all from open play - takes this season’s tally to six goals in five games and hoists Isca up to second on goal difference.
Thomas deflected in a pacey free hit from Zoe Burrell to open the scoring on 25 minutes before adding a quick fire second half hat-trick in the space of eight minutes, 41, 45 and 49.
Lily Owsley also scored a hat-trick in a 4-0 away win, as Firebrands won at Taunton Vale.
Owsley (7, 13 and 38pc) proved too hot to handle for promoted Vale. Louisa Denman also scored for Brands, following an 18th minute penalty corner.
Welsh ace Carys Hopkins scored both Swansea City goals in a 2-1 win at Staines after the home side took a 40th minute lead. Hopkins levelled from a 45th minute penalty corner before adding the 62nd minute winner as Spartans claimed their first win of the season.
Buckingham remain top of the table with five wins from five following a 2-0 victory at third placed Gloucester City.
Jo Leigh scored a 61st minute penalty corner leveller as Clifton fought back from 2-1 down at half time to draw 2-2 at home to University of Birmingham in the Premier Division.
Abigail Porter got Clifton off to a flyer by scoring in the second minute.
